Preparing for the “factories of the future”.
This presentation will focus on the requirements to be met before the “digitalisation of automation”, which shape the factories of the future, can become a reality.
Presented by Simon Keogh, General Manager – Siemens Factory Automation & Control Products, the presentation explores some of the automation technology trends currently impacting manufacturing, and touches on the next predicted productivity leap – a fourth industrial revolution now referred to as Industry 4.0, which could see the factories of the future control their manufacturing processes largely by themselves through the use of digital technology. While the Industry 4.0 reality is “some way off”, there are already signs of increasing interaction between product and machine.
